The Sarasota area is always abuzz with local events and activities. But July tends to be a particularly busy month. Whether you're new to the area or have lived here for years, this is the season to get out, engage with the community, and enjoy all that Sarasota has to offer. In that spirit, here are a few of the top July events and activities our real estate agents are excited about.
Held at the Historic Asolo Theater at The Ringling, Summer Circus Spectacular is a family-friendly show featuring talented circus performers from all around the world. Prepare to see acrobats flip and twirl in the air, clowns crack jokes that will have you in stitches, and stunt people perform breathtaking feats.
Summer Circus Spectacular takes place throughout the summer with performances on most days in July. Visit the event website to see show times and buy tickets. Prices start at $20 for adults and $15 for children. For an additional $5 per person, you can enjoy admission to the Historic Circus Galleries and Tibbals Learning Center.
Celebrate Independence Day early with Fireworks on the Lake at Nathan Benderson Park. This celebration takes place on July 3rd. Spend the afternoon enjoying live music and family-friendly entertainment. Then at dusk, the spectacular fireworks show kicks off. Watching fireworks explode over the lake is truly something special.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase in the park, and admission is free.
On Independence Day itself, one of the best places to celebrate is at Bayfront Park. Here, the July 4th Fireworks Celebration will kick off promptly at 9 p.m. Make sure you arrive early to get a good spot, and bring chairs or a blanket to sit on.
Since 2026 is our nation's 250th anniversary, this year's fireworks show promises to be extra special. There's no cost to attend.
The fourth Friday of every month, The Green at UTC hosts Movies Under the Stars. July's event is scheduled for Friday, July 24. The movie of the month will be Elf... in honor of Christmas in July. Will Ferrell is hilarious in this classic hit.
The movie will begin at 8 p.m., but there will be fun pre-show activities starting at 7 p.m. You can get your face painted, meet Buddy and Jovie, and enjoy food and drinks from local vendors. All ages are welcome. Make sure you bring your own chair, and perhaps an umbrella in case of rain.
Take a quick drive over to Venice, and enjoy a free Friday Night Concert in Centennial Park. There are two scheduled for July:
Both concerts start at 7 p.m., but you'll want to arrive a little early to find a spot. The artists will perform at the gazebo. Friday Night Concerts are sponsored by Neal Communities and hosted by Venice MainStreet.
